Cringe Thoughts Aren’t Random — Here’s Why

Quick Answer: Have you ever had an embarrassing memory suddenly pop into your head and wondered why you're thinking about it again? I believe these “cringe thoughts” aren't always random. Sometimes they happen when our energy is lowered, when an old emotional wound is activated, or when we're energetically connected to someone else. Energy Hygiene, strengthening your aura, and consciously cutting cords can help you recognize what is yours—and what may not be.

Do you ever have those cringe moments throughout your day?

Suddenly you remember something embarrassing you said 15 years ago.

Maybe you remember not being picked for a sport, being rejected by someone you asked out, losing your temper with your kids or partner, or acting in a way you wish you could take back.

We all have those really bad “icks.”

But what if there is a reason they suddenly come up?

For me, when an old memory of embarrassment, shame, or regret suddenly surfaces, I don't automatically assume it originated with me in that moment.

I look at what is happening energetically around me.

First, Validate the Pain

Before doing anything energetically, validate what happened.

Pain is real—even when someone else might consider the experience insignificant.

Maybe you were embarrassed.

Maybe you were rejected.

Maybe you genuinely made a mistake.

Validate it.

Then offer yourself perspective.

An uncomfortable memory does not need to become an opportunity to beat yourself up all over again.

Some of us are incredibly good at turning self-criticism into an Olympic sport.

And when we stay there, our frequency can drop.

Ask Yourself: Why Did This Come Up Right Now?

This is the question I find much more interesting.

Why did a memory you haven't thought about in months—or even years—suddenly appear today, at this particular moment?

In my experience, sometimes these thoughts coincide with energetic connections to other people.

Someone may be thinking about you.

Someone you're connected to may be having a difficult day.

Or there may be tension occurring between people within your energetic network.

I once had a client experiencing repeated cringe moments, and as we explored what was happening, we recognized that someone connected to him was fighting with another person connected to him.

That was valuable information.

Instead of automatically believing every negative thought represented how he truly felt about himself, we could look at the larger energetic picture.

This Is Why I Teach Energy Hygiene

Some connections aren't easily severed.

Family relationships, long-term relationships, children, former partners, and other significant connections can have very strong cords.

That doesn't mean you're powerless.

You can consciously work on Cord Cutting and strengthen your Energy Hygiene.

When I notice an unusual increase in negative or cringe thoughts, I look at the condition of my own energy.

Have I cleaned my energy?

Have I cut cords?

Is my aura feeling strong and solid?

Has something lowered my frequency?

For me personally, I noticed that sugar lowered my energy. When my energy dipped, I experienced significantly more negative and cringe thoughts.

That pattern taught me something important about myself.

Your Frequency Affects More Than You

I often describe frequency on a scale of 1–10.

If you're operating at a 10, you can walk into a room and elevate the people around you.

If your energy is very low, that can affect the environment around you too.

Wouldn't you rather be the person who elevates others?

That's another reason I consider Energy Hygiene so important.

It isn't simply about protecting yourself from uncomfortable energy. It's also about taking responsibility for the energy you bring into the world.

Strengthen Your Aura Instead of Fighting Every Thought

The goal isn't to spend your entire day analyzing every negative thought and asking who caused it.

The goal is to become energetically stronger.

When your aura feels pure, strong, and solid, you're less likely to be affected by every energetic fluctuation around you.

So when a cringe thought suddenly appears, you can notice it without immediately attaching yourself to it.

Ask:

Is this actually how I feel right now?

Did something trigger this memory?

Is my energy depleted?

Do I need to clean my energy or cut cords?

Then do the Energy Hygiene rather than allowing one thought to turn into an hour of beating yourself up.

You Don't Have to Live With Constant Cringe Thoughts

If you're experiencing these moments frequently, don't assume you're destined to spend your life replaying everything you've ever done wrong.

Pay attention to the patterns.

Strengthen your energy.

Cut cords.

Clean your aura.

Raise your frequency.

And learn to recognize the difference between a thought appearing in your awareness and a thought that actually represents you.
