Quick Answer: If you feel like you’re the only person in your life who believes in intuition, Reiki, synchronicities, premonitions, or energy healing, you may not be as alone as you think. Sometimes we’re waiting for other people to reveal this side of themselves while they’re waiting for us to do exactly the same thing. You don’t have to convince anyone of your beliefs. Simply becoming more comfortable sharing who you are may give someone else permission to do the same.
All too often, I hear from students and clients that they are the only person in their life who thinks the way they do about intuitive arts and healing.
Many tell me their partner isn’t into it at all.
This absolutely breaks my heart.
That said, I also think part of the problem may be that you haven’t fully come out yet. 🙂
If everyone is afraid to talk about these experiences, how do we ever discover one another?
What Happened When My Husband Openly Shared a Premonition
Recently, my husband was outside talking and sharing a few laughs with a couple of our neighbors when he casually mentioned a dream premonition he’d had back in July that has since unfolded in our lives.
When he came inside and told me about the conversation, I pointed out how natural and comfortable he had been sharing it.
Our neighbors were fully engaged—smiling, listening, and without any sense of judgment, at least as far as we could sense.
It wasn't some dramatic announcement.
It was simply part of a conversation.
And that's really my point.
Let People See the Whole You
Our neighbors have been very open to who we are since we’ve lived here.
But we’ve also been stellar neighbors.
We're kind. We're quiet. We're thoughtful. We respect everyone's space. We try to be exactly the kind of neighbors we would want to have.
We also plant hundreds of flowers, and our neighbors—and even people simply walking past—often stop and tell us how grateful they are for the beauty and light we're adding to our little corner of the neighborhood.
I believe that matters.
When people already know you as a level-headed, kind, thoughtful person, learning that you also believe in Reiki, intuition, premonitions, or synchronicities doesn't have to suddenly change their perception of you.
It's simply another part of who you are.
Why hide it?
You May Discover You're Not Alone at All
Over time, we discovered that one of our neighbors was actually very into “our world.”
I even gave him one of my Reiki books, and the timing turned out to be incredibly significant for him.
A good friend of his had passed away a year earlier, and that particular day was her birthday.
Her favorite color had been purple.
My first-edition Reiki book was purple.
They had been seeing purple throughout the day, so receiving that purple Reiki book felt like one more loving sign from her.
Had we never been open about who we are, would we ever have discovered that connection?
Maybe not.
Someone Else May Be Waiting for You to Go First
Because of the Law of Attraction, I believe there is a very high likelihood that people around you share more of your beliefs and experiences than you realize.
But somebody has to go first.
You mentioning a dream, a premonition, an intuitive experience, or a synchronicity may be exactly the opening someone else needs to say:
“Oh my gosh. I experience that too.”
You don't need to convince them.
You don't need to prove anything.
You don't even need them to believe exactly what you believe.
You're simply allowing yourself to be seen.
You Don't Need Everyone to Understand You
Coming out of the spiritual closet doesn't mean sharing everything with everyone.
Use your intuition.
There will always be people who aren't interested, and that's okay.
But there is a big difference between choosing what you share and hiding an important part of yourself because you're afraid of being judged.
The next time you feel yourself shutting down, consider this:
The very thing you're afraid to say out loud might be the doorway someone else needs to feel safe enough to share too.
You never really know who's quietly waiting for that opening.
But the Universe does.
And I believe the Universe is very, very good at pairing us with exactly the right people we're meant to be around.
Ready to Find More People Who Understand This Side of You?
One of the reasons I created my online community was to give people interested in Reiki, intuitive development, Energy Hygiene, psychic development, synchronicities, and spiritual experiences a place where these conversations are normal.
You don't have to be the only person in your world talking about these things.
