Can Reiki Help Reprogram Deeply Ingrained Beliefs?

Can Reiki Help Reprogram Deeply Ingrained Beliefs?

Quick Answer: Reiki can be one useful tool for working with deeply ingrained beliefs, especially when you combine it with awareness, Energy Hygiene, visualization, journaling, coaching, and consistent practice. Old beliefs about money, love, success, worthiness, or how hard life has to be often run very deep. The goal is not to force yourself to “think positive,” but to identify the pattern, track your progress, and repeatedly use tools that help you create a different internal experience.

A student asked me this week:

“Can Reiki reprogram my brain?”

She had a number of deeply ingrained beliefs she wanted to change—beliefs around prosperity consciousness, love, success, and how hard you have to work in order to get ahead.

The first thing I told her was:

Give yourself some grace.

The fact that you are even identifying these beliefs and actively trying to change them already means you are doing something most people never do.

Start by Looking at How Far You’ve Already Come

This student had been working with me through a combination of Remote Healing and live coaching.

She had already documented changes.

She had new awarenesses.

She was already feeling better.

So I asked her:

Have you considered how far you’ve already grown?

Sometimes we are so focused on what still needs to change that we completely overlook the progress we have already made.

If you continue working on the same pattern for another month, six months, a year, or even five years, where might you be then?

That perspective matters.

Deep Beliefs Take Time to Change

The subconscious mind is powerful.

A huge amount of what we think, expect, fear, and assume about life has been shaped long before we consciously decided what we wanted to believe.

That is why changing a deeply ingrained belief can feel difficult.

You may consciously say:

“I want abundance.”

But underneath that may be beliefs such as:

Money is hard to make.

People like me never get ahead.

Success requires suffering.

Love never works out for me.

I’m too old to change.

The belief may be so familiar that it simply feels like reality.

That is why awareness is the first step.

Write Down the Belief You Want to Change

If there is something deeply ingrained that you want to work on, write down the goal first.

Then write down every negative thought that appears around it.

For example:

Goal: I want to become financially abundant.

Then notice what immediately comes up:

That will never happen.

I’m too old.

I’ve already tried everything.

People like me don’t become wealthy.

I don’t know how.

Those thoughts are valuable information.

They show you exactly what needs attention.

You can even use a burn ceremony if that resonates with you—write the thoughts down, acknowledge them, and symbolically release them.

Use Your Tools

One of my favorite things to say to students and clients when they're in a difficult moment is:

Use your tools.

That may mean:

Reiki.

Energy Hygiene.

Journaling.

Meditation.

Going for a walk.

Taking a bath.

Taking a break from your phone.

Creating distance from the environment or people who are reinforcing the old pattern.

The goal is to get back in touch with yourself so you can respond consciously instead of automatically repeating the same belief.

Track Your Progress

I also think people need a way to measure change.

I use visualizations in my work, including what I call my Billionaire Meditation, where we spend time immersing ourselves in the feeling of wealth consciousness.

Then I ask:

How easy is it for you to enter that visualization?

Does abundance feel natural?

Does it feel uncomfortable?

Do you immediately start thinking of reasons it could never happen?

If something that felt impossible six months ago now feels easier, that is progress.

Without some form of tracking, growth can feel invisible.

Your Environment Matters Too

If you are trying to change your life, pay attention to the people around you.

If you want to become more motivated, spend time with motivated people.

If you want to become healthier, spend time around people who take care of themselves.

If you want to grow financially, surround yourself with people who believe growth is possible.

Your environment affects your frequency.

This is especially important for Empaths and sensitive people because we can be deeply affected by the people around us.

Sometimes changing your beliefs also requires separating yourself from the people and environments that constantly reinforce the old ones.

You May Be Breaking Generational Pattern and Attachments

Sometimes the beliefs you are trying to change did not begin with you.

They may have come from your family of origin.

Beliefs around money.

Love.

Work.

Sacrifice.

Self-worth.

What is possible.

What is safe.

What kind of life someone “like you” is allowed to have.

If you are challenging those patterns, you may be doing more than simply changing a thought.

You may be breaking a generational pattern.

That takes work.

Give yourself credit for that.

Reiki Can Be Part of the Process

I encourage my students to learn Reiki because Reiki gives you another tool to support yourself while you work on these patterns.

You can combine Reiki with Energy Hygiene, meditation, visualization, journaling, coaching, and other practices that help you become more aware of what you are thinking and feeling.

The deeper goal is not perfection.

The goal is to notice the negative thought sooner.

Interrupt the pattern sooner.

Choose differently sooner.

And gradually create a new baseline for yourself.

You Don’t Have to Do This Alone

Olympic athletes do not get to the podium alone.

They have coaches.

Teams.

People who encourage them.

People who help them see what they cannot always see for themselves.

Personal growth can work the same way.

Find people you trust who will support your growth, challenge you with love, and remind you to use the tools you already have.

You are much more likely to keep moving forward when you are surrounded by people who are moving forward too.
