Quick Answer: Have you ever noticed street lights flickering, watches suddenly stopping, or electronics behaving strangely when you’re nearby? I believe our energetic state can sometimes interact with the environment around us. For me, problems with electronics have often happened when I was angry, depleted, exhausted, or carrying draining energy.
Years ago, I went on a date with a guy who casually warned me that street lights went out around him.
That night, we counted 16 street lights that blinked out as we walked and drove around—and we went to several different places.
It was remarkable.
At the time, I didn’t know what I know about energy now. He had a harder personality, and his energy felt very misaligned to me. That experience really stuck with me because it was so unusual.
And around that same period, I started noticing strange patterns in my own life.
When My Energy Was Off, Electronics Were Too
When I was angry, watches would break on me.
My car electronics would glitch.
I would be standing at a checkout in a store and the credit card machine wouldn't work. Sometimes, as soon as I stepped back, it would start working again.
This happened a lot.
Over time, I began recognizing a pattern.
For me, these things were much more likely to happen when my energy was "off"—when I was depleted, exhausted, carrying draining energy, or simply not well-centered.
It felt almost as though I was creating a vacuum or disruption around the electronics.
At one point, it became so noticeable that I was placing an order over the phone and their credit card machine stopped working during my transaction.
I paused, breathed, cleared my energy—and then it started working again.
Coincidence?
Maybe.
But when something happens repeatedly over many years, I pay attention.
Some People Seem to Have the Opposite Effect
My oldest child appears to have the opposite gift.
When he was about two years old, we had a stopwatch that wouldn't stop going off. It had been doing it every day for about a week, and we couldn't figure out how to fix it.
He walked over and fixed it in about 30 seconds.
He was two.
Then it happened again.
And again, he fixed it.
As he got older, I noticed the same thing with toys and other electronics. He always seemed to instinctively know how to change the batteries, where they were hidden—which can sometimes be the hardest part!—and how to navigate technology.
Now, as an adult, he can sometimes simply walk past a glitching television, phone, or computer and suddenly it starts working again.
This is usually much to my dismay after I've already spent ten minutes trying to troubleshoot it! :-)
But truly, it's remarkable. I've watched him do this many times.
Can Your Energy Affect Electronics?
I think it can.
We are energetic beings surrounded by electrical and energetic systems all day long. And from my own experiences, I've become very aware of how differently electronics seem to behave depending on my energetic state.
For me, electronics acting strangely can actually be a little reminder:
How is my energy right now?
Am I depleted?
Am I carrying energy that doesn't feel like mine?
Do I need to clear my energy?
Do I need to Bubble Up?
Do I simply need to stop, breathe, and get myself centered again?
Rather than becoming frustrated with the malfunctioning electronic, sometimes I'll look at my own energy first.
Pay Attention to Your Patterns
One unusual experience doesn't necessarily mean anything.
But patterns are interesting.
If street lights frequently flicker when you're around, watches repeatedly stop working, computers behave strangely, or electronics seem unusually sensitive to you, start paying attention to when it happens.
What was your emotional state?
How was your energy?
Were you exhausted or depleted?
Had you been around draining people or environments?
Were you angry, overwhelmed, or stressed?
Or perhaps you're someone like my son, who seems to have an unusually harmonious relationship with electronics.
You may begin noticing patterns you hadn't recognized before.
Because for me, it always comes back to the same thing:
It all has to do with energy. :-)
Have You Experienced This?
Do street lights flicker around you? Have you had watches repeatedly stop, electronics malfunction when you're upset, or technology mysteriously start working when a particular person walks into the room?
