“What’s the Difference?” I asked him. “Between the Love of Your Life, and Your Soulmate?” “One is a Choice, and One is Not.”

Quote of The Month: “What’s the Difference?” I asked him. “Between the Love of Your Life, and Your Soulmate?” “One is a Choice, and One is Not.” Tarryn Fisher, Mud Vein

My dear friend asked me this month, “What is the difference between a “Soulmate” and a “Twin Flame.” I told her that I can’t say for certain, but to me, a Soulmate is someone whom you love deeply, you might know your entire life, and you feel completely comfortably with.

You may have several Soulmates. I explained that she and I are soulmates, and she agreed. (Not all Soulmate relationships are sexually intimate). I explained to her that both of our ex-husbands were definitely our Soulmates, and she agreed, but was curious about what a Twin Flame was?

Being that I am currently married to my Twin Flame, I shared that a Twin Flame is someone who likes the same part of the same songs that you do, has the same core values, has the same core habits, the same filters and perspectives about people and our world, someone who you know that you are safe around and can fall asleep next to instantly. These are just some of my own definitions of what a Twin Flame is to me, but both Soulmates and Twin Flames are important in our lives.

Not everyone finds their Twin Flame, and maybe not everyone is supposed to, but I promise you that you won’t miss them because it is not possible. You will be magnetically drawn to them in the most unavoidable way. It seems that my friend may have found her Twin Flame and feels anxious about all of it because it’s happening so strong and so fast. I told her to savor the anxiety and all of the awkward moments because it may be the last time that she ever feels these feelings again.

If he is indeed her Twin Flame, then he will be the last person that she dates and falls in love with. Never again will she feel the whirlwind of teenage-like butterflies that she is currently feeling.

I was inspired to write about this because there seems to be a lot of people exploring new relationships right now. As long as you are true to who you are, and don’t lose who you are, you are on the right path. Take a chance because the love of your life is out there, waiting for you now.
